Epiphany Lutheran Church
Epiphany’s Summer of Love
SS Teacher Celebration: On Sunday, June 2nd we will recognize the time and energy of our wonderful Sunday School teachers during our service, followed by an ice cream social. Come and show some love for all who help to share God’s love through storytelling, drama, crafts, and embodied prayer.
Summer Reading: “Love Big: The Power of Revolutionary Relationships to Heal the World” written by Rozella Haydee White will be the source of Book and Faith Discussion on Sunday Mornings starting June 2nd and on FB Monday, June 3rd, continuing for 8 weeks. This book is available on Amazon in paperback and as a digital download.
Video Devotions: Check FB or your email inbox for video devotions that will appear throughout the summer. These will be moments to check-in wherever you are to hear some scripture and share a moment together. If you have recommendations for books or podcasts or activities that you have found inspiring, challenging or in any way stirring your faith, Pastor Dave will try and pass those along as well.
Server Trainings: Acts of love abound each Sunday. The Altar Guild is busy preparing the communion elements, greeters welcome folks as they arrive, ushers ensure everyone is together in the space, acolytes signal to all that the Spirit is here, readers and prayer leaders lift up God’s Word, and communion assistants share The Meal with all who hunger and thirst. If you are interested in learning more about ways to serve on Sundays, please check out one or more of trainings that will be held in June.
June 9th - Training for Acolytes
June 16th - Training for Ushers and Greeters

Caring for Epiphany: We have slowly started to freshen up our gathering spaces and this will continue throughout the summer. We have been blessed with a fresh coat of paint in our Narthex, a new sound system, and a new drinking fountain! Look for more information on coming developments.
Burtonsville Day Planning Team: One of the ways we are visible in the community is through our table at Burtonsville Day in September. If you would like to do some brainstorming about our presence at the festival this year, contact Pastor Dave!
We know that summer is a popular time for travel and outdoor activities. Some ways to stay connected to the community can be through the summer reading discussion on FB, setting aside some time to read the lectionary texts for Sundays you may be gone (which will be posted on the bulletin board in Fellowship Hall), and catching the check-in video devotionals that will appear throughout the summer months. Keep your eyes and ears open for God’s presence!
