Epiphany Lutheran Church
Pastor David Slagle Peck
Greetings! Welcome to Epiphany! I am excited for the many opportunities of serving with you in this community. Walking together on this journey of faith is a great privilege, as we are opened in new ways through our worship, in our meals together and serving side by side in the world. We continue to be renewed through our mission, seeking to be “God’s people, welcoming and challenging all to grow in FAITH, LOVE, and SERVICE”!
I grew up in the Midwest, with some time out west scattered in there. I have degrees from the University of Minnesota and the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg. I have been nurtured by many of the ministries of the ELCA, including the National Youth Gathering, Lutheran Campus Ministry, trips to Tanzania, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua through Synod relationships, and Lutheran Volunteer Corps in Seattle.
Before coming to Epiphany, I served in various interim positions with Lutheran Volunteer Corps, supported an interim pastor at St. John Lutheran in Linthicum, MD, and spent two wonderful years raising my first born.
My wife, Jennifer, and I have two wonderful girls and one incredibly patient dog. We lived in the Metro area for about 8 years, for the past 3 years in Silver Spring. I also serve on the board of DC Diaper Bank, a local non-profit that provides diapers and other baby essentials through our partner organizations as a gateway resource to strengthen families in the Metro DC area.
If you are new to the area, searching for a faith community, or just wandering, you are invited to join us for worship, a discussion, or one of our meals. I welcome you to explore this community online, over the phone or with a visit.
