Preparing for Palm Sunday

Preparing for Palm Sunday

Traditionally, we have gathered together outside the sanctuary with palm branches raised as we hear the account of Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem and then join in procession into the sanctuary to continue our service on the Sunday leading into Holy Week. This Sunday will be different but we can still lift our branches together to celebrate this moment.

In order to do this, you will need some palm branches of your own. You don’t need actual palm leaves to participate, you are invited to be creative! Here are just a couple of ways you can make your palm branch, but not the only ways!

One idea is to trace your hand on a few pieces of paper, cut them out, and paste them together. See the picture below for an example.

You can also use this palm branch coloring sheet that was graciously shared by Illustrated Ministry. Just color it and cut it out!

Once you have your palm branches ready to go, take a picture and send them to Pastor Dave or post them during our Palm Sunday Kitchen Table Gathering this week!
